What inspired you to establish Musas® Community and Academy, and how has its mission evolved since its inception?

A personal transformational process over a decade ago led me to awaken my own inner sacred feminine energy and, thus, heal from a so-called incurable illness, deepen my relationships, and create an authentic, abundant life. This process awakened in me a desire to serve and a devotion to support the healing and empowerment of women around the world, as well as the infusion of divine feminine energy principles in leadership and business.

Could you share the story behind your partnership with Natural Mystic and what motivated you to co-create retreats like “Unlock Your Divine Feminine”?

Since 2017, I have designed and co-led small, profound, intimate retreats for small groups of women as part of my in-depth mastermind programs. I have witnessed firsthand the truly transformative impact of a retreat experience. When combined with a circle format, it becomes a powerful ancestral awakening, where we remember our power and see ourselves reflected in other women, who become our sisters, healers, and muses. Group, in-person experiences are particularly impactful and allow us to catalyze our own personal journeys as well as contribute to our collective empowerment as women.

As a longtime friend of Douglas Gordon, founder of Natural Mystic, I participated in one of his psilocybin retreats last year. I had a powerful experience as a participant and felt the space was deeply and very expertly held. I left the retreat elated, and we started talking about how cool it would be to partner and co-lead a series of retreats, bringing a fusion of my longstanding experience in the healing and empowerment of women with Natural Mystic's recognized global presence in the healing arts. So, we decided to co-create non-psilocybin retreats under our alliance, which we feel are more suitable for female entrepreneurs.

Designing Transformative Retreats: What key elements do you focus on when awakening the inner muse and empowering women?

We use the power of the women's circle and an altar to our ancestors, as well as the four elements, to sustain and ground us. Together, we go on a journey that begins with our starting point. We connect with our inner child to alchemize wounds that come up to be healed. Once we are free of these patterns, we are free to create the life of our dreams, and we connect with our creativity to awaken the divine feminine power of the Muse. We add conscious movement, flow, dance, and massage to really embody these energies. We use Shamanic and Evolutionary Astrology to discern our life purpose and understand who we serve, as well as our unique blueprint as entrepreneurs and leaders. Rest, adventures in nature in beautiful Jamaica, and lots of fun and play—in a lavish setting with exquisite food—top it all off to create a perfect container for a truly life-changing experience.

As an investor on Shark Tank Colombia, what insights did you gain about entrepreneurship in Latin America, and how did this experience influence your mentoring approach?

Entrepreneurship in Latin America is a thriving and dynamic market. There is so much innovation and creativity across all sectors and a real potential to expand nature-based businesses to address global problems like climate change and massive biodiversity loss. However, founders face significant barriers to scaling their businesses, and for women particularly, these barriers include access to capital, adequate mentors, and business networks. Indeed, globally, less than 3% of all venture capital funding is going to female-founded businesses. Women need adequate mentoring and accompaniment in a more integral way, with an understanding of their specific needs as female entrepreneurs. In addition, between 40-60% of founders experience burnout globally due to a high-pressure environment and resulting isolation among entrepreneurs. For these reasons, I am targeting my investments and mentoring toward female founders and business leaders and generating a community of founders who want to scale their purpose-driven businesses to generate more impact without burning out in the process.

Can you elaborate on your commitment to triple-impact entrepreneurship and how you integrate social, environmental, and economic considerations into your ventures?

Twenty-eight years ago, I went on a nine-month backpacking journey through South America that changed my worldview. We spent most of our time hiking and camping in over 30 national parks and wilderness reserves and walked hundreds of miles traversing mountains, deserts, and ancient forests. Communing with nature in this way made me more sensitive to its needs, so I became a custodian of nature and was one of the early environmentalists in my land, Colombia, a long time before it became fashionable. This fact has influenced most of my decisions to this day and has led me to create a values-centered family business ranked among the top 10% of B corporations in the world, co-found two business networks promoting sustainable building and family businesses, and work with the World Bank, the Ministry of the Environment, and The Nature Conservancy. My experience has led me to believe that businesses are more dynamic and innovative than governments and NGOs. I also believe that businesses today, especially B-certified corporations, have a historic mission of leading the way forward in incorporating social and environmental impacts into their business models and generating a vibrant, abundant, inclusive, and regenerative economy.

Your work emphasizes personal transformation. Could you share a pivotal moment in your journey that shaped your current path?

When I was 23, I received a life sentence from my doctor: that I have chronic rheumatoid arthritis. I was told I could potentially be in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. This situation led me early on to delve into alternative healing and seek the deeper emotional undercurrents and family system dynamics that were underneath my physical symptoms. By adopting holistic approaches, I have been in remission for over 20 years. I believe the healing journey never really ends. This is why I am a healer and why I believe that in order to transform, we must first heal. This is why I have studied yoga, family constellations, feminine archetypes, and astrology. I am continually learning various paths to sustain the deeper healing that lies beneath any personal transformation.

How do you define feminine leadership, and why is it crucial in today’s entrepreneurial landscape?

For me, feminine leadership goes beyond gender and is a style of leadership that brings forward the divine feminine archetypes taught by Carl Jung. This type of leadership is cyclical, inclusive, creative, spontaneous, full of love, connected to Mother Earth in presence and gratitude, and leads from the heart with an expanded vision and intuition. It is radical leadership when we realize that many of these elements in the business world today are subdued or silenced. I believe that just as in the world, we as a species feel separate and apart from nature; we have been separate from and thus exploiting our feminine nature. I believe this type of leadership drives more triple-impact businesses, seeks to heal and transform the world by creating new companies, and employs companies as a solution to the most pressing problems. When we lead with a balance between our feminine and masculine energies, we will create the best businesses for the world.

What are some common challenges you’ve observed among women entrepreneurs, and how does Musas® address these obstacles?

The three biggest challenges I observe among women founders are feeling that they are not enough, not being able to scale from solopreneur to leading a team, and facing burnout. I have developed specific online courses for each of these three challenges. In addition, in our Masterminds, we: (i) generate a supportive, energetic container for healing from imposter syndrome, (ii) stop being “Soyla,” which in Spanish means “I am the one who does everything!” and teach sustainable business structures, and (iii) bring world-class mentors to teach topics ranging from cyclical productivity to purpose-driven sales. We believe that we no longer have to do it by ourselves as entrepreneurs and that the feminine way is to generate group mentorship programs and masterminds. We create a movement of resilient and abundant women entrepreneurs that is stronger than the sum of its parts.

Could you share a memorable success story from the “Unlock Your Divine Feminine” retreats that highlight their transformative impact?

The above picture captures the essence of our latest retreat, which was in beautiful Palomino, Colombia. The picture was taken right at the end of the experience, following walks to the river, moonlight dinners, astrology and purpose readings, and salsa dancing. Several of the women who attended wrote to me this had been their best retreat ever!
